Patricia A. Poeschel

Patricia A. Poeschel

Patricia Ann Poeschel age 64 of Durand, died Saturday November 11, 2017 at her home in the Township of Lima, rural Durand.

Pat was born July 28, 1953 in Wabasha, MN.  She was the daughter of Phyllis M. Stromness, and grew up in Durand.  She graduated from Durand High School in 1971. She attended and graduated from UW-River Falls with a teaching degree. Pat married Al Poeschel June 29, 1974 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand. She taught 3rd grade at St. Mary’s Catholic Grade School for several years.  Pat then worked at the Courier-Wedge Newspaper and later for the Pepin County Land Conservation Office where she was currently employed.

She enjoyed playing cards with her card club, visiting with friends, getting her hair done at the Hair Hut, so she could catch up on the “latest gossip” and her pride and joy, mowing her lawn.  Pat was most proud of her sons, watching them grow up and continuing the family farm. Her children and her grandchildren were her pride and joy.

Pat is survived by her two sons, Todd (Michelle) of Nelson and T.J. (Sarah) of Durand; five grandchildren, Evan, Ava and Ryan; Sami and A.J., two sisters-in-law, Shirley (James) Klein of Plum City, Tammy (Jeff) Arneson of Mondovi, two brothers-in-law, Tony Albrecht of Winona, MN and James K. Poeschel of Menomonie; nieces and nephews, Jessica, Jennifer and Dan Klein, Chris and Caitlin Arneson.

Pat is preceded in death by her mother, her husband Al in 2006 and a sister-law, Marcia Albrecht.

Funeral services will 11:30 AM Wednesday November 15, 2017 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima, Durand, with Rev. Paul Bosco officiating.  Burial will be held in the church cemetery.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 PM Tuesday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.
