Caroline M. Scott

Caroline M. Scott age 80 of Durand died Sunday January 7, 2018 at Mayo Clinic Health System in Eau Claire.

Caroline was born July 17, 1937 in the Township of Dresbach, Winona County, MN.  She was the daughter of Frank and Laura (Armitage) Papenfuss.  Caroline grew up in Nodine, MN on the home farm and was the youngest of six children.  She graduated from Winona High School in 1955.  Caroline married Jerry Scott October 13, 1956 in Nodine, MN.  After marriage they moved to Trempealeau, Wisconsin and began raising their family.  In 1978 they moved to the Maxville Township, rural Durand and for the past five years they have made their home in the City of Durand.

Caroline enjoyed crocheting, sewing, quilting, doing craft work, watching NASCAR races, but mostly spending time with her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Caroline is survived by her husband, Jerry, four children, Peggy (Daniel) Biesen of Osseo; Patty (Dan) Crawford of La Crosse; Perry (Andrea) Scott of Durand, Nicole (Gerald) Anderson of Red Wing, MN, 11 grandchildren, 15 great grandchildren; a sister Beulah Waite of Elba, MN several nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents and a daughter Christine in infancy, one brother Ross Papenfuss, and three sisters, Iva Kelley, Dorothy Wood and Mary Ann Brown.

Celebration of Life Services will be held from 11:00 AM to 1:00 PM Saturday January 13, 2018 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand.

    You are all in my thoughts and prayers, it was always so nice to sit and visit with Caroline when she came to the Care Center to visit Jerry. We shared the love of quilting and we would talk all about projects and all the new things and places to find the best fabric. What a great lady she was.
