Russell L. Hubbard

Russell L. Hubbard, age 84 of Durand, died Wednesday, April 04, 2018 at Our House Assisted Living in Menomonie with his family at his side.

Russell was born on May 12, 1933 in the Peru Township in rural Dunn County. He was the son of Herman and Sylvia (Dawson) Hubbard. He grew up in the Red Cedar area, attended Meridean School and attended Durand High School. Russell took a job driving truck in the Iron Range area of Minnesota for several years. He then worked for Tri City Dairy in Durand. Russell met Joann V. Manore and they were later married at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arkansaw on August 30, 1958. After marriage, they lived in the Durand area all their lives, where they raised their family. Russell worked for Durand Co-op for over 30 years, where he retired. In retirement, Russell worked for Black’s Valley Ag for several years.

Russell enjoyed woodworking, traveling to 34 of the 50 states and watching the Packers. Most of all, Russell loved to spend time with family and friends.

Russell is survived by his wife Joann of 60 years, children; Brian of Durand, Trish Hubbard of Woodville, Lori (Glen) Zierl of Arkansaw, Robert of Durand, Kathy (Fiancé, Paul) Hubbard of Wheeler, Russell Jr. (Amy) of Elk Mound, Alan (Lori) of Hudson and Eric (Shannon) of Galesville, eight grandchildren; Nellie Jo Hubbard, Derek Hubbard, Andrew Zierl, Alexander Zierl, Amber Baier, Nathaniel Webb, Nicole Krause and Skyler Hubbard, 12 great grandchildren, four sisters; Arlene Cataract of Arkansaw, Myrna (Frank) Brantner of Mondovi, Sharon (Allard) Jackson of Strum and Marjorie Hanson of Alma, one brother-in-law, Calvin Manore of Atkinson, NC, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, one grandson; Matthew Hubbard and two brothers; Lyle and Darrel “Sonny” Hubbard.

Funeral Mass will be 11:30 AM Tuesday, April 10, 2018 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima, rural Durand. Rev. Paul Bosco will officiate. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM until the time of services at the church on Tuesday.
