Audrey A. Binkowski, age 80

Born: September 1, 1928

Died: November 30, 2008 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.

Audrey was the daughter of Albert and Helen (Suder) Binkowski. She was born in Elmwood. Audrey and her family moved to Plum City when she was three weeks old. She attended elementary school at Union I Country School and graduated from Plum City High School.

After graduation, Audrey worked as a nurse’s aide at the Durand Hospital briefly and then at the Menomonie Hospital for many years. After her mother passed away in 1973, she moved back to the home farm in rural Plum City, to assist her father in taking care of her brother, Albert Jr., who was confined to a wheelchair.

In 1981, Audrey and Junior moved to an apartment in Durand, where they resided together until his death in 1997. Audrey dedicated much of her life caring for others, especially her brother, Junior. She remained in Durand until moving to the Plum City Care Center in September of 2002.

Audrey enjoyed embroidering and listening to old time and country western music on the radio.

Audrey is survived by her brothers, John (Connie) of Plum City and Dale (Lorelee) of Menomonie, nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother.
