Loren R. Nerison

Loren R. Nerison age 75 of Colfax, passed away on Saturday October 27, 2018 at his home in the Township of Tainter, rural Colfax.

Loren was born June 1, 1943 as a twin, in Colfax.  He was the son of Helmer and Elvira (Carlson) Nerison and grew up in the Menomonie area and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1962.  Loren was drafted into the U S Army and served in the Viet Nam War and received a Purple Heart.

Loren worked for Brave Harvester in Menomonie for 22 years and retired due to injuries from an automobile accident.  Loren married Theresa “Terri” Bammert May 1, 1971 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie.  Loren and Theresa worked together as custodians for the Tainter United Methodist Church for 37 years.

Loren was a Green Bay Packer Fan.  He enjoyed his dogs, playing cards, especially cribbage, doing “scratch offs”, fishing, taking drives in the country and spending time with family and friends.

Loren is survived by his wife of 47 years, Theresa “Terri”, a son Raymond (Rachel); a brother, Gaylan (Linda), sisters, Beverly Robinson, his twin sister, Lorna (Harlan) Knutson, Elaine (Fred) Briggs, Donna (Larry) Flick; sisters-in-law, Marge Nerison and Brenda Nerison as well as nieces, nephews, his Tainter Church family, extended family at the Valley and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Harland, Orville and Dennis, a sister Arlene Harvey, a sister-in-law Roberta Nerison and brothers-in-law, Merle Robinson, David Harvey and Delmer Rank.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 AM Friday November 2, 2018 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie with Rev John Mano officiating.  Burial will be in the church cemetery with military honors provided by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard.

Visitation will be held from 5:00 to 8:00 PM Thursday with a prayer service at 5:45 PM at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
