Gloria I Forster

Gloria I. Forster, age 97 of Durand, died Saturday, December 15, 2018 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.

Gloria was born on August 18, 1921 in Ogden, IA. She was the daughter of Tony and Edvige (Trevisol) Galloro. Gloria grew up in Ogden and graduated from high school there. After high school, Gloria moved to Banning, CA where she met Louis “Louie” Forster, while he was in the Army there. Gloria married Louie Forster on March 4, 1946 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima rural Durand. After marriage, they made their home in Durand where they raised their family. During her working years, Gloria was a legal secretary and did taxes.

Gloria enjoyed traveling, camping, fishing and spending winters in Florida or Arizona with Louie. She also enjoyed crafts, playing piano, organ and playing cards. Most of all, Gloria loved spending time with family and friends.

Gloria is survived by her children; Robert (Mariantonia) of Manitowoc, Diane M. (Special Friend; Jim Keeler) Forster of LaCrosse, Stephen of Maple Shade, NJ and Mary Sue (Special Friend; Randy Hillestad) Wittig of Durand, seven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, one brother; Don Galloro of California, one brother-in-law; John Weiss, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Louie, three sisters; Mary Mitchell, Emma Meehan and Rosie Seaver and three brothers; Tony, Joe and Don.

Funeral Mass will be 11:30 AM Friday, December 21, 2018 at St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand with Rev. Paul Bosco officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made in Gloria’s name to the Plum City Care Center.

    I was named after Aunt Gloria. She was such a wonderful lady. Didn't see much of her after she moved to Wisconsin. She will be missed by her family and loved ones. Rest in peace. Love Gloria

    I am so sorry to hear about the passing of my Aunt Gloria. She was my godmother in the Catholic Church in Ogden Iowa as an infant. She lived a distance from me so I didn’t get to see her that often. She was such a pretty lady,tiny and loved so much!! My blessings go to her family at this time. RIP. Neice Roberta
