Beverly M Risler

Beverly M. Risler, age 79 of Elmwood, died Wednesday, January 9, 2019 at Advent Health Hospital in Durand with her family at her side celebrating her life.

Bev was born on October 1, 1939 at home in the Town of Lima, rural Durand. She was the daughter of Henry and Barbara (Bauer) Bauer. Bev grew up in the Lima area and graduated from Sacred Heart High School. After high school, Bev took a job at Clara’s Café in Durand. She married Roger Taylor on October 21, 1961. Together they had three children, Todd, Tim and Rhonda. Roger died a in car accident in 1963. On October 10, 1964, Bev married Thomas “TR” Risler, the love of her life, at St. Mary Catholic Church in Durand. Together they had two children; Tammy and Randy. After marriage they lived and raised their family in the Town of Eau Galle. Bev was well known for her potato salad, bartending in Eau Galle, catering weddings and spent 40 years working the Jack Harmon Chicken Dinners.

Bev enjoyed playing cards, putting together puzzles, crosswords and word finds. Most of all, Bev loved to spend time with family and friends.

Bev is survived by her husband of 54 years, Tom, her children; Todd (Rayma) of Joplin, MO, Tim (Jaclynn) of Elk Mound, Rhonda (John Schneider) of Menomonie, Tammy (Duane “Dewey”) Sinz of Durand and Randy (Tanya) of Colfax, 13 grandchildren; Ryan (Stacey), Kevin, Landan, Jaden, Emma, Justin (Alena), Tucker, Katelynn, Derek (Katie), Jessica (Brandon), Jordan, Kali and Taylor, seven great grandchildren, one sister-in-law; Kathryn “Kay” Bauer of Menomonie, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband; Roger Taylor, one sister; Sally Happe and two brothers; Norbert (Lorraine) Bauer and Darrell “Foozy” Bauer. 

Memorial Mass will be 11:00AM Tuesday, January 15, 2019 at St. Henry Catholic Church in Eau Galle with Rev. Joseph Okine-Quartey officiating. Burial will in the church cemetery at a later date. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time of services at the church on Tuesday.

    I remember many times going out to the farm where she was raised and playing with her when we were kids. Also would see her occasionally when we got back to Durand. Remember one day going to see her and she was busy making that famous potato salad. May she rest in peace.
