Velma L. Weinzirl age 80 of Menomonie, formerly of Elmwood, Died Saturday December 6, 2008 at her home surrounded by her family.

Velma was born October 19, 1928 in the Township of Weston, Dunn County. She was the daughter of Marshall and Ethel (Lynch) Bundy, and grew up in Weston community where she attended the Nippersink rural school. Velma married Clyde A. Weinzirl December 5, 1946 in Goodhue, Minnesota. After marriage they farmed near Elmwood for several years before moving into Elmwood. After moving into Elmwood Velma spent many years working at Duffy’s in Spring Valley. Velma then became Activities Director at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home until retirement. After the death of her husband, Clyde, Velma moved to Menomonie where she has resided the rest of her life.

Velma was very active in volunteer work. She was involved in many organizations, the Ladies Auxiliary in Elmwood, Elmwood United Methodist Women, and Red Cedar Medical Center Auxiliary (Lady Bugs). Through out the years, Velma traveled extensively. She enjoyed being with friends and loved all the special visits with her family. Grandma will be deeply missed and loved by all.

Velma is survived by three children, Bill (Judi) of Elmwood; Sharon (Gerald) Foley of Stillwater, MN; Edward (Debbie) of Tucson, AZ; seven grandchildren, Tony, Angie, Scott, Aaron, Dale, Jason, Michelle; nine great grandchildren, Brittany, Brett, Aden, Jacob, Ethan, Austin, Nicole, Skyler, Wesley; a sister, Virginia Kortness of Enumclaw, WA; nieces and nephews, Debbie Fortner, Paul Weinzirl, Jr., Sandra Hallott.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Clyde in 1994; great granddaughter, Angel; two brothers, Clifford and Lloyd Bundy; two sisters, Margaret Anderson and Mabel Bundy; two nephews, Timothy Weinzirl and David Anderson.
