Arvilla A Caturia

Arvilla A. Caturia, age 82 of Arkansaw, died peacefully Sunday, May 12, 2019 at her home in Arkansaw.

Arvilla was born on February 26, 1937 to Frank and Pauline (Bauer) Bauer. Arvilla grew up in the Mondovi area and attended Mondovi country schools. She met the love of her life, Fred Caturia in June of 1956 and they were married on February 12, 1958 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Mondovi. After marriage, they lived in the Arkansaw area, where they raised their family and she remained the rest of her life. Arvilla helped on the family farm, worked at canning factory in Mondovi, Huntsingers in Eau Claire and babysat for many grandchildren. 

Arvilla enjoyed baking, cooking, flowers, dancing, playing cards and dancing in the barn to polka music while milking cows. She also liked spending time in her flower gardens and canning all the produce from her big gardens. Most of all, Arvilla loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

Arvilla is survived by her husband of 61 years; Fred, children; Monica (Kevin) Schack of Webb Lake, Gene (Laura) of Exeland, Marjorie (Dan) Biesterveld of Arkansaw, Theresa Caturia-Kriesel of Cochrane, Gina (Glenn) Hayden of Akransaw, Kenneth (Tammy) of Durand and Joseph (Tammy) of Arkansaw, 17 grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two brothers; Merlin (Dorie) of Trempeleau and Eugene (Lorraine) of Janesville, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, son; Patrick, five brothers; Lawrence Bauer, Melvin Bauer, LaVerne Bauer, Hubert Bauer and Frank Bauer Jr and four sisters; Lorena Becker, Eleanore Wright, Lydia McManimon and Arlene Weber.

Funeral Mass will be 10:30AM Saturday, May 18, 2019 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Arkansaw with Rev. Joseph Okine-Quartey officiating. Burial will be in the Arkansaw French Cemetery in Arkansaw. Visitation will be 4:00PM-8:00PM Friday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Saturday.
