Bonnie L Hanvelt

Bonnie L. Hanvelt, age 68 of River Falls, died unexpectedly Friday, June 14, 2019 at the Hudson Hospital in Hudson.

Bonnie was born on September 27, 1950 in Plum City. She was the daughter of Dennis and June (Moen) Fritz. Bonnie grew up in Elmwood and graduated from Elmwood High School in 1968. After high school, Bonnie worked for a few years in the Twin Cities at American Family Insurance. Bonnie married her high school sweetheart Gary Hanvelt on February 8, 1969 at the Elmwood United Methodist Church in Elmwood. After marriage, they moved to River Falls where Bonnie worked for a short time at Langwear as a seamstress. Bonnie retired from Anderson Windows in 1991 to take care of her family.

Bonnie enjoyed knitting, sewing, crocheting, drawing, baking and cooking. She also enjoyed traveling and going to car shows. Most of all, Bonnie loved to spend time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren.

Bonnie is survived by her husband of 50 years; Gary, one daughter; Kristi (Joe) Sharon of River Falls, three grandchildren; Ryan, River and Kane, mother; June Fritz of Elmwood, two brothers; Dewey (Sue) Fritz of River Falls and Don (Katie) Fritz of Elmwood, one sister; Diane (Steve) Pittman of Spring Valley, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her father; Dennis Fritz and one brother; Bruce Fritz.

The family would like to thank the nurses; Katie, Amy, Jenny and Dewey “Gizmo” at Fresenius Dialysis Center in Hudson for their loving care and support of Bonnie.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Elmwood on Thursday, June 20, 2019 from 4:00PM-7:00PM.
