Mark J. Dusek

Mark J. Dusek

Mark J. Dusek, age 47 of Pepin, died Friday, August 30, 2019 at Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire with his family by his side after a hard fought battle with cancer.

Mark was born on January 3, 1972 in River Falls. He was the son of Marvin and Mary “Elaine” (Smith) Dusek. Mark grew up in River Falls on his family’s dairy farm and graduated from River Falls Highschool. After high school he went to Red Wing Technical College and received a certificate in precision welding. Mark realized his true calling was to come back and farm with his family. Mark married his high school sweetheart, Susan Post on June 12, 1993 in New Richmond. After farming for several years with his father, Mark and Susan moved to Pepin in 1997 to continue farming and raise their family. Mark enjoyed farming until June of this year when his illness forced him to stop.

Mark enjoyed working on the farm and milking with his family. He also liked hunting with his children, going on hunts out west, 4th of July boat rides, going to the Dells, and tinkering in his shop. Mark enjoyed talking with friends and people he would meet. He was always willing to go out of his way to help someone in need.

Mark is survived by his wife of 26 years; Susan, five children; Mikaela, Derek, Tanner, Logan and Gabriella, his father; Marvin of Pepin, one brother; Alan (Nita) of River Falls, three sisters; Ann (Ted) Nolen of Hudson, Lisa (Jay) Huppert of River Falls, and Jeannie (Lee) VanderMarliere of Beldenville, nieces, nepehws, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his mother; Mary “Elaine” Dusek and his son; Hunter Ryan Dusek.

The family would like to thank the doctors, nurses and staff at the Marshfield Medical Center in Eau Claire for all their loving care and support.

Memorial Services will be 2:00PM Sunday, September 8, 2019 at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Pepin with Pastor Karna Marks officiating. Burial will be in Oakwood Cemetery in Pepin. Visitation will be from 12:00PM Noon until the time of services at the church on Sunday.
