Richard J Carroll

Richard J. Carroll, age 75 of Elmwood, died peacefully Thursday, February 20, 2020 at United Hospital in St. Paul, MN with his family by his side.

Dick was born on January 20, 1945 in Plum City. He was the son of LeRoy and Elaine (Myers) Carroll. Dick grew up in Plum City and graduated from Plum City High School in 1963. After high school, Dick was drafted into the U.S. Army where he served in Vietnam and later was honorably discharged. After the Army, Dick worked for Eastern Airlines at Chicago’s O’Hare Airport until the company closed. He was married and had three children. After his youngest child graduated high school, Dick returned home to the Plum City area. Dick worked in Red Wing, MN until he retired.

Dick enjoyed playing softball, cards, darts and pool. He was passionate about his vegetable garden, an avid Packer fan and closet Bear fan when they were not playing the Packers. Most of all he loved to spend time with his family and friends, especially his granddaughters.

Dick is survived by his children; Randy Carroll and Tammie (Ed) Majkrzak, three grandchildren; Gabe, Gracee and Alayna, six sisters, four brothers, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, daughter; Tamra Carroll, one sister and two brothers.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 11:00AM-2:00PM Saturday, July 11, 2020 at the Plum City American Legion Hall in Plum City.
