Margaret E. Poeschel, age 92 of Durand,
Born: June 14, 1916
Died: Wednesday, December 24, 2008 at the Oakview Care Center in Durand.
Margaret was the daughter of Joseph and Mary (Danzinger) Brunner. She was born and raised in the Lima Township, rural Durand. Margaret graduated from Sacred Heart Schools in Lima. After high school, she attended the Teacher’s College in Eau Claire and graduated in 1936 and later taught school for six years in various rural schools in the Durand Area. Margaret married Willis Poeschel on June 17, 1942 in Lima. After marriage, they lived and farmed in the Lima and Durand area. After selling the farm in 1994, they moved to the City of Durand, where she remained the rest of her life.
Margaret is survived by her husband of 66 years, Willis of Durand, one daughter, Judy Smith of Oronoco, MN, one adopted missionary son in India, Fr. Abel of India, one granddaughter Kasandra Smith of Oronoco, two great grandchildren, one brother, Jerry (Vernie) Brunner of Durand and one sister, Mother Rita Brunner of Lowell, MI, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, three brothers, Edmund, James and Raymond Brunner.
