Lawrence Klessig age 80 of Menomonie,

Died: Saturday January 24, 2009 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.

Larry was born March 30, 1928 in the Township of Beaver, Clark County. He was the son of Leo and Catherine (Little) Klessig and grew up in that area. Larry served in the U. S. Arm during WW II and the Korean War. After the service he retuned to Eau Claire where he met and married Dorothy Wald, and the made there home in Eau Claire. Larry worked as a Surgical Tech at Luther Hospital, retiring after 30 years. Following retirement they moved to Menomonie where he has remained the rest of his life.

Larry is survived by his wife, Dorothy; a sister, Lorraine Rueden of Marshfield; a step daughter-in-law, Rose Thomas of Merrimac; several step grandchildren; several nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a brother Norbert Klessig and a son-in-law, Dave Thomas.

Graveside services will be 1:00 PM Thursday January 29, 2009 at Tramway Cemetery, Township of Menomonie. Rev. Paul Pillman will officiate with military honors by the Menomonie Veterans Honor Guard.

Friends may call one hour before services at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie.
