Ida Margaret Noll age 89 of Menomonie

Died: Thursday February 5, 2009 at Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.

Ida was born May 1, 1919 in the Township of Weston, Dunn County. She was the daughter of Joseph and Margaret (Hofacker) Noll. Ida attended Fair View Rural School and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1936. She attended Dunn County Normal, graduating in 1937. Ida received a two year Teaching Certificate from Eau Claire State Teachers’ College in 1938 and a B.S. Degree in 1955. Ida began teaching in 1938 and taught for 47 years. She began teaching in one-room country schools. Ida taught in Chippewa Falls for 13 years and in St. Paul, MN for 20 years, retiring in 1985.

She was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church in Menomonie and Holy Childhood in St. Paul, MN. Ida was a member of the P.C.C.W. at St. Joseph. She was an active member of St. Paul Retired Teachers and Wisconsin Retired Educators. Ida was a member of the Falconers Senior Group of St. Paul and a member of the Alpha Tau Chapter of Delta Kappa Gamma Sorority. Her interests were reading, baking, needlework, crafts, writing and sending relatives and friends Hallmark Cards. Ida moved to The Oaks in Menomonie in 2001.

Ida is survived by her sister, Marie Howe of Menomonie; three nieces, Connie (Bruce) Gonitzke of Hudson; Carole (Lonnie) Hintzman of Chippewa Falls; Jeanne (Jim) Kremer of LaCrosse; three nephews, Kenneth (Kay) Noll of Durand; Steven (Diane) Howe of Menomonie; William (Deborah) Howe of Spring Valley and other relatives and friends.

She is preceded in death by her parents, an infant sister, Helen; brothers Edward and Clarence Noll; brother-in-law, Eugene Howe; sisters-in-law Gertrude Noll and Sophia Noll, many dear relatives and friends.
