Patricia M Hurlburt

Patricia M. Hurlburt, age 74 of Durand, died Monday, October 18, 2021 at Methodist Hospital in Rochester with her family by her side.

Pat was born on April 3, 1947 in Cook County, IL. She was the daughter of Bernard and Betty (Brown) Lucas. Pat grew up in Chicago and St. Paul before moving to the Maxville Prairie, where she graduated from Durand High School in 1965. After high school, Pat married Rodney Hurlburt on October 10, 1966 at the Durand United Methodist Church in Durand. They farmed in Maxville for several years, where they started their family. Pat worked several jobs over the years, including Scheel’s in Wabasha, Hardees in Durand and home care for several people. Pat was most known for her career in foodservice for the Durand School District, retiring in 2013 as Assistant Cook.

Pat enjoyed collecting figurines, cookie jars, depression glassware and tea kettles. She loved to go shopping in Eau Claire several times a week with her best friend. Pat had a soft spot for animals, especially cats.

Pat is survived by her husband of 55 years, Rodney; four children, James (Sarah Driver) of Bloomer, Geoffrey of Colorado, Amanda Hanson of Chippewa Falls and Aaron of Eau Claire; seven grandchildren, Jordan, Cassady, Nathan, Jonah, Gabriel, Lydia and Danica; one great grandson, one brother, Michael Lucas of Germany; half-sisters, Susan Panek of Rhinelander and Betsy Ashley of Rio Rancho, NM; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Linda Warnke and brother, Wally Ericson II.

Celebration of Life of will be 2:00PM-4:00PM Thursday, October 28, 2021 at Durand United Methodist Church in Durand.

Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Durand, is serving the family.
