Joanne K. Baier

Joanne K. Baier

Joanne K.  Baier, entered the everlasting presence of her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on her 75th birthday, June 19, 2022, after a delayed battle with two rare autoimmune diseases. Wife of 51 years to James; mother of Amy; mother-in-law of Ben; grandmother of Bailey; sister of Carol.

Joanne gained many family members through her marriage including several nieces who spoiled her with delicious baked goods! Joanne was a longtime employee of and advocate for the Village of Elmwood and Pierce County. During her professional career, she was instrumental in the creation of two local town libraries, the county's own books-by-mail service, and an Elmwood History book.

She had a life-long love of dollhouse miniatures and there was virtually nothing she could not create in miniature! She supported her church and her community for many years in many ways and loved reading and traveling, especially her visits to England. Her favorite Bible verse was Isaiah 41:10.

Thank you to the loving, patient and kind medical staff at the Heritage of Elmwood, Adoray Home Health & Hospice, and Mayo Clinic Health System, all of whom assisted and greatly cared for Joanne and her family during her illness.

Memorials will be used at the discretion of the family.

Memorial services will be held at 1:00 PM Tuesday June 28, 2022 at the Spring Lake Lutheran Church, Township of Spring Lake, rural Spring Valley.  Burial will be at Sacred Heart Cemetery-Farm Hill, rural Elmwood.

Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Monday at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church.
