Gary J Myers

Gary J. Myers, age 82 of Durand, took God’s hand and passed into Jesus’ arms on December 9, 2022 surrounded by family, prayers and love.

Gary was born March 16, 1940 in the Plum City Hospital in Plum City to Floyd and Norma (Marcks) Myers. Gary spent four plus years in the Army serving our Country. Gary married Robbin Murtaugh and two beautiful daughters were born, Kristine and Jody, the loves of his life. He was a born and raised on a farm, where he learned to love farming. He worked construction, metal fabrication and was a member of the Boilermaker’s Union. Gary married Judea Sarnstrom in 1988, together they lived in 8 different homes in Wisconsin cities. He said Wisconsin is the best place to live. He left behind his boxer, Charlie, his companion. He loved all dogs and animals.

Gary is survived by his wife of 35 years, Judea, daughter, Kristine (Dan) Myers-Mueller of Prescott, siblings, Virginia (Tom) Berg, Stanley (Ruth), Bruce (Lydia), Kelley (Sue), Joe (Lori), Allen (Doris) Pfieffer and Marlo (Robbin), stepchildren, Rachel Fritz, Brad (Jan) Fritz, step-grandchildren, Maurrissa (Phil), Brady, Dominic, McKenzie, Jaylen, Carter, Bradyn and Colton, step-great granddaughter, Lily, his Sarnstrom brothers and sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents Floyd and Norma, daughter, Jody Bunce, stepmother, Alice Myers and brother, Dennis.

Special thanks to the Cardiac Unit at Mayo Eau Claire and Advent Health-Durand Hospital in Durand, Advent Health South Clinic and Dr. Hunt, the nurses and Gary’s special friend, Dr. Kenneth Rucker.

Gary accepted our heavenly father and Jesus Christ as his savior. He wanted to share one of his favorite Psalms, Psalm 133: Where it says God sees how precious in His sight it is when Brothers and Sisters dwell in Unity.

A Celebration of life will be held from 12:00PM Noon-4:00PM on Saturday, April 8, 2023 at the Community of Christ Church in Arkansaw.

    I am so very sorry to hear of Gary’s passing. When I was very young, I grew up as neighbors to Gary when I lived in Ellsworth. I have many memories of Gary and how kind and funny he was. I used to play with Kris and Jody all the time along with all my brothers and sister. Kris, you have my deepest sympathies. I will be keeping you and your family in my thoughts and prayers.
