Earl T Field

Earl T. Field, age 92 of Elmwood, died Tuesday, May 5, 2009 at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.

Earl was born on March 30, 1917 in the Salem Township, rural Pierce County, Wisconsin. He was the son of Norman and Mary (Morgan) Field. He spent the majority of his life in the Maiden Rock/Elmwood Area. Earl married LaVerl Kitchner on September 26, 1940. He farmed just East of Elmwood for over 20 years. Earl also worked construction for most of these years.

Earl served in the Armed Air Force, 8th Infantry during WWII. He was stationed in Listen, England, with the rank of Sergeant.

Earl is survived by eight daughters, Norma Jean Mitchell of Beloit, Phyllis (Michael) Lovell, Loretta (Wayne) Stark, both of Elmwood, Lorraine Matthews, Dorothy Field, Deloris Field, Marie (Mike) Shafer, all of Menomonie and Doris Smith of Sioux Falls, SD, three sons, Donald, John, both of Elmwood and Robert of Viola, numerous grandchildren, great grandchildren, great great grandchildren, one brother-in-law, Willard Ritchey of Maiden Rock, his beloved cat, Sammy, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, his wife LaVerl (1977), one daughter and son-in-law, Kathleen (George) Scott, a son-in-law, Donald Mitchell, daughter-in-law, Rose Field, grandsons, Martin Mitchell and Brandon Field, three brothers, Floyd, Harold and Duane and one sister, Colleen Ritchey.
