Allen W Bauer

Allen W. Bauer, age 70 of Durand, died Friday, June 30, 2023 at his home in Durand with his daughters by his side.

Al was born on February 18, 1953 in Durand. He was the son of Wilfred F. and Lorraine E. (Unser) Bauer. Al grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School in 1971. After high school, Al attended CVTC in Eau Claire for HVAC and joined the family business. Al owned and operated Bauer’s LP Gas and Appliances for his entire career. Al married Roxe-Ann Loomis and together they had three daughters. Al joined the Durand Fire Department, where he served the Durand area for over 30 years.

Al loved spending time with his grandchildren. He enjoyed air boating on the Chippewa River, biking, gardening and his yardwork.

Al is survived by his daughters Megan Bauer (fiancé Jared Meixner), Tessa Bauer and Taylor Bauer (Shawn Schmitt), grandchildren Jase, Ryker, Dezi, Ari, Trey, Cobi, Nelli, Ajay and Case, siblings, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother and sister.

Memorial Mass will be 11:00AM Saturday, July 8, 2023 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand with Rev. Emmanuel Asamoah-Bekoe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 4:00PM-7:00PM Friday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand.

Memorials are preferred in Al’s name to the Durand Fire Department.
