Mary S Van Norman

Mary S. Van Norman, age 62 of Menomonie, died Sunday, November 12, 2023 at her home in Menomonie after a long battle with cancer.

Mary was born on December 7, 1960 in Durand. She was the daughter of Ralph and LaVon (Peterson) Fedie. Mary grew up in rural Durand attended Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lima and graduated from Durand High School in 1978. Mary married Brian Van Norman on June 27, 1981 at Durand United Methodist Church in Durand. She worked at various places over the years including K-Mart and most recently at the Menomonie Senior Center.

Mary enjoyed being outside, taking care of her flowers, gardening and going on drives. She liked getting together with her siblings and loved spending time with her children and grandchildren.

Mary is survived by her husband of 42 years Brian, children Jesse of Menomonie and Samantha (Matthew) Hovey of Maple Plain, MN, grandchildren Harper and Madelyn, siblings Debra (Ed) Weiss of Woodbury, MN, Steven A. (Barb) Fedie of Durand, Linda (Scott) Peterson of Mahtomedi, MN, Karla (Brock) Lunderville of Balsam Lake and Amy (Chris) Lokken of Eau Claire, mother-in-law Gayle Van Norman of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and father-in-law Wesley Van Norman.

A Celebration of Life will be held from 3:00PM-6:00PM Friday, November 17, 2023 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand.
