John F Meixner
John F. Meixner, age 74 of Arkansaw, died of natural causes in Barnes on November 19, 2023.
John was born on April 30, 1949 in Plum City. He was the son of Arnold and Loretta (Bauer) Meixner. John grew up in Arkansaw and graduated from Arkansaw High School in 1967. After high school, John owned and operated a milk hauling business, John Meixner Trucking. John married Barbara Jean Bauer on September 8, 1984 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima in rural Durand. After marriage, they lived in Arkansaw and raised their family. John worked with RM Schlosser Construction in Durand and he worked there until his retirement in 2009.
John enjoyed spending time at his cabin in Barnes, the outdoors, hunting, 4-wheeling, fishing, snowmobiling, and boating. He had a passion for muscle cars, especially Plymouth Road Runners. Most of all, he loved being a Grandpa.
John is survived by his wife of 39 years, Barb, children Jenna (Derek) Traun of Nelson, Jared (fiancé Megan Bauer) of Chippewa Falls, Jonathon of Arkansaw, and step daughter Bernadette Tenney of Durand, grandchildren Brecken and Ashlyn, step grandchildren Desirae, Andrea, Xzander, Wyatt, Steven, Jase, Ryker, siblings Jan (Denny) Brunner of Durand, Dennis (LuAnn) of Arkansaw, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Kenny, and father and mother-in-law Joe R. and Cecilia Bauer.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 4:00PM-7:00PM Friday, November 24, 2023 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand.
