Shirley A Berger

Shirley Ann Berger, age 83, of Mondovi, passed away January 13th 2024 at Advent Health in Durand, WI.

Shirley was born September 17th, 1940 in Durand to William and Margaret (Hayden) Bauer. She attended school at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lima and was united in marriage to Willard (Bill) Berger November 28th, 1959 at Holy Rosary Lima Church.  Together they had three sons and ran their own business, Berger Pump & Plumbing.

She enjoyed camping with the boys in the early years, playing cards, time with her grandkids and great grandkids, watching her favorite soap opera, spending late nights reading the paper and cutting out and sharing her favorite comics.  Shirley loved catching up with family over the phone and always knew whose birthday or anniversary was next. She loved her family and friends very deeply.

Shirley was a member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Rock Falls and her faith was very important to her.

Shirley is survived by her three sons: Curtis (Connie) Berger of Eau Claire, Craig (Jody) Berger of Mondovi and Rodney (Stacy) Berger of Mondovi; four grandchildren: Kayla (Max) Anderson, Kristine (Lantz) Haskins, Dylan (Jessica) Berger and Austin (Ashten) Berger; eight great-grandchildren: Nathan, Noelle, Camden, Hudson, Shane, Emersyn, Warren and Rylie.

Surviving siblings are Myrna Weber of Elmwood, Judy Kainz of Menomonie, Gary (Judi) Bauer of Menomonie and Larry (Carolyn) Bauer of Eau Claire, Brother in Law Steve Hubbard of Little Rock, Arkansas, Sister  in Law Sylvia Bauer of Eau Claire

Preceded in death by her parents, husband Bill Berger, brother Ronnie Bauer, sister Debbie Hubbard and brothers in law Daniel Weber and Michael (Pat) Kainz.

The Family would like to thank Advent Health for there care, compassion, and love shown to Shirley and the whole family during her stay.

Funeral Mass will be 11:00AM Friday, January 19, 2024 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Rock Falls with Rev. Timothy Welles officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be 4:00-7:00PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.

Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Durand, is serving the family.
