Mary J Olson
Mary J. Olson, age 83 of Plum City, died Thursday, January 11, 2024 at her home in Plum City.
Mary was born on October 31, 1940 in Barron County. She was the daughter of George and Marvel (Amdall) Howard. Mary grew up in the Chetek area and graduated from Chetek High School. She married Orland Olson on April 12, 1958 in Chetek. Mary worked at Kinyon Concrete for over 30 years until she retired at 65.
Mary enjoyed fishing, camping and gardening next to the love of her life, Orland. They took many fishing trips together and enjoyed taking the grandchildren fishing in the summer. Mary also enjoyed crocheting afghans for anybody and everybody. She also liked going to gospel concerts. Mostly, Mary loved spending time with family and friends, especially her grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Mary is survived by her four children Wesley (Kim) of Chipley FL, Kirk of Ellsworth, Bradley (Bonita) of Maiden Rock and Karmen (partner Darla Grotheer) of Otsego, MN, 16 grandchildren, 18 great grandchildren, brothers, sisters, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Orland, one son Stuart, one daughter Michelle in infancy, two grandsons Aaron Olson, Bradley C “Charlie” Envold, one granddaughter Camille Bardsley and one brother Thomas.
Memorial Services will be 11:00AM on Saturday, January 20, 2024 at Ono United Methodist Church in rural Plum City with Rev. David Kim officiating. Burial will be in the Ono Cemetery in the spring. Visitation will be from 10:00AM until the time of services at the church on Saturday.
