Marie was the daughter of Robert and Francis (Poeschel) Brantner. She was born and raised in the Town of Albany, Pepin County. Marie married John Boigenzahn November 24, 1936. After marriage they lived and farmed in the Bear Creek area of the Town of Lima, Pepin County, rural Durand until retiring and moving into the city of Durand. Her husband John passed away in 1964. Marie has been a resident of the Plum City Care Center since October 2007.
Marie enjoyed gardening, sewing, dancing and was great cook. She was a good neighbor and a wonderful aunt to her many nieces and nephews. Marie greatly enjoyed the Christmas season.
She is survived by nieces and nephews, Rita (Mark) Brantner of Eau Claire, Donald Brantner of Mondovi, Greta (Jerry) Czarkowski of Eau Claire, Eugene (Irene) Brantner of Eau Claire, Edward (Jan) Brantner of Eleva, Arlette (Leon) Kearns of New Richmond, Clement (Mary) Kaufman of Eau Claire, Karen Radle of Rock Falls, Lynette Juergens of Eau Claire, several great nieces and nephews, special friend, Roger Cook and his family. Marie was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, John, three brothers, Robert, Walter and Henry Brantner and one sister, Annabel Kaufman.
