Dennis C "JR" Haglund

Dennis C "JR" Haglund

Dennis C. “JR” Haglund, age 63 of Plum City, died suddenly and unexpectedly on Monday, January 22, 2024 at his home in Plum City.

JR was born on June 15, 1960 in Durand. He was the son of Dennis C. and Carol (Kearns) Haglund Sr. JR grew up in the Plum City area and graduated from Plum City High School in 1978. JR married Lori Hophan, together they had three children and later divorced.  JR farmed and worked in the agriculture field until 2009. In 2009 he bought and ran JR’s Mainstreet Bar in Plum City.

Serving the community was close to JR’s heart. He was an active member of the Plum City Lion’s Club, Pepin County Tavern League, and Ellsworth Rod & Gun. He loved supporting all local causes and he never met a raffle ticket he didn’t like.

JR enjoyed traveling across the country especially taking “cousins” trips with Neal, Pamm and Sandie to Alaska. He also had a passion for golf and his goal in life was to play a round of golf in each state. JR was an avid Wisconsin sports fan, watching the Brewers, Packers and Badgers. If he wasn’t busy at the bar, you could find JR playing cards. Most of all JR loved spending time with his family and friends.

JR is survived by his children Katelin (Matthew) Steege of Hortonville, Kali (Trent) Unser of Plum City and Kevin (Kaycee) Haglund of Prescott, three grandchildren Harper and William Steege and Karly Haglund, partner Krissa Holt of Plum City, parents Dennis Sr. and Carol of Plum City, siblings Leah (Ken) Milliren of Plum City, Annie (Barry) Bignell of Knapp, Dixie (Joe Ortworth) Haglund of Menomonie, Matt Haglund of Plum City, aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, beloved cousins and friends.

Visitation will be from 4:00PM-7:00PM Friday, February 2, 2024 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand. Burial will be in St. John the Baptist Catholic Cemetery in Plum City. A Celebration of Life will be 1:00PM-5:00PM Saturday, February 3, 2024 at Molly’s on Main in Plum City.
