Harold C Bauer

Harold C Bauer, age 92 of Rock Falls, received his angel wings and went peacefully on Wednesday, May 15, 2024 at the American Lutheran Home in Mondovi to meet his creator and long awaited reunion with his bride of 68 years, Lucille and his infant son.

Harold Cletus Bauer was born on March 28, 1932 in Durand. He was the son of Paul C and Clara (Brantner) Bauer. Farming with his father was one of Harold’s joys in life. Going to polka fests and traveling the United States to Army Reunions with his loving wife was a very big part of their enjoyments. He lived life to the fullest. Harold also drove school bus for Lima Schools, worked for the Meridean Chicken Hatchery, Presto, Durand Canning Factory, but his most fullfilling job was farming.

Harold was a lifelong member at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima in Durand, a Farmer’s Union Member and the Eau Claire Moose Lodge #1408.

Harold is survived by his sisters, Greta Sobottka of Schofield, Diane Kuhnert of Altoona and Rose “Linda” (Bill) Abramovich of Durand, many nieces, nephews, Godchildren, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Lucille, and a son in infancy.

The family would like to thank the staff at American Lutheran Homes-Mondovi, especially Chaplin Gary. Fr. Emmanuel Asamoah-Bekoe, Dr. Rich and his staff at the Mayo Clinic in Mondovi, Charlene Anderson, Mayo Palliative Care, Mayo Hospital Staff, Eau Claire and St. Croix Hospice staff and Chaplin Carl for the great and compassionate care of Harold over the years.

Funeral Mass will be 11:30AM Wednesday, May 22, 2024 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church-Lima in Durand with Rev. Emmanuel Asamoah-Bekoe officiating. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the church on Wednesday.

Rhiel Funeral Home & Cremation Services, Durand, is serving the family.
