Richard D Ebbinga

Richard Dale Ebbinga passed away peacefully in his sleep on Saturday, June 14, 2025 at home in Arkansaw, WI.
Richard was born September 16, 1937 to Diedrich Siebelts Ebbinga and Ann Theresa Thies in Currie, Minnesota. He served in the Air Force as a staff sergeant for 6 years as an electronic technician maintaining radar equipment.
Richard married Murlys Ann Holmen and they had 4 children Jodi, Jim, Lori and Paul. They lived in Minnesota where Ricahrd worked for 3M then was transferred to California. Later in his career, Richard was transferred to the 3M plant in Menomonie, Wisconsin. His wife, Murlys passed away in 1992. Richard met and married Jeanette Brunner July 17, 2004. They lived on a farm in rural Arkansaw. He farmed for a few years and totally loved it. He had a private pilot’s license and loved flying, especially his Cessna. One of the highlights of the year was attending the air show at Oshkosh.
In later years, Ricahrd loved fishing and went camping and skiing with his children. Richard and Jeanette traveled to California every year to visit his children, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Among their fun activities was dancing which was very enjoyable, also RV camping.
Richard is survived by his wife, Jeanette and a daughter Lori (Bill) Meni and a son Paul Ebbinga. Also grandsons Will and Noah Meni, granddaughters Jennifer (Sam) Bosley and Sara (Colin) Arp. Great-grandchildren Emmett Bosley and M.J. Bosley, siblings, other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his wife, Murlys, daughter Jodi and son Jim. Also 2 brothers Don and James and 2 sisters Linda Fryer and Sharon Filzen.
A Visitation will be held at Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie on Friday, June 20th from 4 pm to 7 pm. Burial will be at a later date in Conejo Mountain Cemetery in Camarillo, California.
