Audrey J. Bracher

Audrey J. Bracher, age 95, of Colfax, WI passed away Monday June 30, 2025, at Colfax Senior Living.
Audrey was born on October 30, 1929, in Bruce, WI to Elmer and Mabel (Thaler) Christianson. She moved with her family to Menomonie, WI in 1944 and graduated from Menomonie High School in 1947. Audrey moved from Menomonie to Elk Mound, WI and later Colfax, WI. Audrey worked many years as a secretary in Menomonie and Eau Claire, working for Stout and later the State of Wisconsin, Department of Natural Resources.
Following her retirement in 1992, Audrey spent her time caring for her mother Mabel until she passed, traveling to visit her grandchildren, volunteering at the Shepherd of the Hills Lutheran Church in various capacities, and driving the elderly to appointments when transportation was needed. She even drove one elderly gentleman fishing and read a book while waiting for him to finish. She met with former co-workers for lunch every few months to catch up on everyone’s lives and families and always enjoyed the lunches at Exit 45 with her brothers, their wives, many nieces, nephews, and her children and grandchildren, when they were in town.
Audrey is survived by her four children, Rox Ann (Doug) Van Pool of Jefferson City, MO, Leslie (Tammy) Bracher of Chickasha, OK, Gary Bracher of Colfax, WI and Barbara Bearden Nabors of Mt. Pleasant, TX; 11 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren; her siblings, Mike (Mary) Christianson of Eau Claire and Vic Christianson of Menomonie; sisters-in-law, Rosemary, Helen and Bonnie Christianson of Menomonie, WI. Audrey is also survived by many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.
Audrey was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Mabel Christianson; sisters, Marion Williamson and Carol Tischman; and brothers, Gilbert, Lyle, Alan and Cal Christianson.
The family would like to thank Mayo Hospice and the staff at Colfax Senior Living for the kind and compassionate care given to Audrey these past few months.
Memorials may be made to the Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church Building Fund
Memorial services will be held at 11:00 AM Friday July 18, 2025, at Shepherd of the Hill Lutheran Church in Elk Mound. Private family burial services will be in the Mamre Cemetery, Township of Menomonie, Dunn County.
Visitation will be held from 4:00 to 7:00 PM Thursday at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Menomonie and one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
