James R. Wenzel
James R. “Jim”, Wenzel age 86 of Menomonie, died Wednesday October 22, 2025, at The Neighbors of Dunn County with his wife by his side.
Jim was born September 20, 1939, in Neenah, WI. He was the son of James and Alice Wenzel and grew up in the Neenah area. Jim attended St. Margert Mary Elementary and graduated from St. Mary’s High School in Neenah. Jim served in the Marine Reserves and worked for Banta Publishing Company for 42 years, he also worked with cattle and horses. Jim married Karen Greiner December 20, 1979, in the Fox Valley area. Jim and Karen later moved to Menomonie and bought a farm where they lived and farmed for the past 25 years. Jim and Karen raised Registered Brown Swiss cattle.
Jim was very knowledgeable with quarter horses, training, buying and selling, and was very well respected throughout the area.
Jim is survived by his wife Karen, two brothers, Tom of Winchester, WI and Michael (Kay) of Oshkosh, WI and several nieces and nephews.
His preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Gerald
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday October 31, 2025, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie with burial at a later date.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to services at the church on Friday.
