Rosemary F Achenbach
Rosemary F. Achenbach, age 92 of Durand, died Monday, January 5, 2026 at the Comforts of Home in Menomonie.
Rosemary was born on December 19, 1933 in Durand. She was the daughter of Albert and Agnes (Anibas) Fedie. Rosemary grew up in the Town of Canton and graduated salutatorian of her class at Sacred Heart Catholic School in Lima. She married the love of her life, Patrick Achenbach on October 6, 1952 at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Lima. After marriage they farmed and raised their family in the Town of Durand. Rosemary was a member of the St. Mary’s Altar and Rosary Society, Pepin County Homemakers and the leader of the 4H group, Lima Lads and Lassies. They retired from farming and built a home on the farm property. Mary and Dale own and operate the farm. For the last 10 years, Rosemary has been a resident of the City of Menomonie.
Rosemary enjoyed gardening, sewing, embroidering, crocheting, cooking, but most of all she loved going square dancing with Pat. She was renowned for hosting Thanksgiving while on the farm for 50 people. Most of all, she loved spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren.
Rosemary is survived by her children, Pat (Paula) Jr. of Bayport, MN, Robert (Donna) of Brookfield, Mary (Dale) Heck of Durand, Edwin (partner Deneen) of Menomonie and Linda (Steve) Otto of Menomonie, 12 grandchildren, Colin (Lauren), Dylan, Matthew (Erin), Jessica (Nick), Emily (Jacob), Julia, Sarah, Marsha, Shawn (Aubrey), Kelsey (partner Oscar), Nicole (Fiancé Adam), Allison, two great grandchildren, Olivia and Oliver, one brother, Felix (Jacquie) Fedie, brother-in-law, David Radle, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Pat Sr., daughter Joan Achenbach, brothers, Gerald Fedie, Elwin “Fudd” Fedie and a sister, Margaret Radle.
Funeral Mass will be 11:30AM Monday, January 12, 2026 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Durand. Burial will be in the church cemetery. Visitation will be from 10:30AM until the time of services at the church on Monday.
