Ralph W. Fedie, age 76 of Durand went to meet his heavenly Father, surrounded by his family and friends on Saturday, August 15, 2009, at the home of his daughter in Eau Claire.

Ralph was born on June 18, 1933. He was the son of Frank and Margaret (Bauer) Fedie. He was born and raised on the family farm in the Town of Lima, Pepin County, rural Durand. Ralph married LaVon Peterson on June 22, 1954 at St. Henry’s Catholic Church in Eau Galle. Ralph was a lifelong farmer, he also worked for Roy Wayne at the Box Factory in Durand, the Durand Creamery, Presto Industries in Eau Claire, and he retired from Safeway in Durand after 29 years of service.

Ralph was a collector of B-B guns, a huge fan of John Deere products, and truly enjoyed country music. He was a longtime member of the Lima Polka Choir and entertained many friends and residents at area nursing homes playing guitar and harmonica with the Fedie Band.

Ralph is survived by his wife, LaVon, his children, Debra (Ed) Weiss of Woodbury, MN, Steven A. (Barb) Fedie of Durand, Mary (Brian) Van Norman of Menomonie, Linda (Scott) Peterson of Mahtomedi, MN, Karla (Brock) Lunderville of Green Bay, Amy (Chris) Lokken of Eau Claire, one sister, Marlene (Duane) Fanetti of Bloomer, grandchildren, Becky (Jared) Leagjeld, Heather (Larry) Gruber, Ryan, Ashley, and Joslyn Fedie, Jesse and Samantha Van Norman, Matthew Peterson, Alexis and Aubrey Lunderville, great-grandchildren, Karlie Gruber and Gabriella Leagjeld, grand-dog, Moses, step-sister-in-law, Connie Peterson and her mother Millie Yndestad, amongst many other sisters and brothers-in-law, along with many nieces and nephews and other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Kenneth.
