Linda Joy Pabst, age 61 of Mondovi, formerly of Durand, died peacefully at her home with her family by her side under hospice care on Friday, October 30, 2009 at her home in Mondovi.

Linda was born on September 25, 1948. She was the daughter of Walter and Agnes (Tollefson) Bloom. Linda was born in Mondovi and grew up in the Urne area of rural Durand. She attended and graduated from Durand High School in 1966. Linda attended UW River Falls, after college she worked East High School in Madison and UW Stout in Menomonie. She married Edward Charles Pabst June 17, 1972 in Durand. In 1973, she quit working for the university to raise her family and give piano lessons for 15 years. In 1988 she went to work for the Durand High School where she worked the rest of her life.

Linda loved working at the school and working with the students, the students called her “Momma P.” For the last six years she started giving over 25 people piano lessons and gave a recital every year. She took great pride in her students’ accomplishments. Linda sang and played for countless funerals, weddings and other church services over the years. In the 1970s Linda and Edward lead a youth Christian singing group known as the Joyful Noise, which preformed throughout the tri-state area. They were honored to be part of this experience.

Linda is survived by her three sons, Brian (Lucia) Pabst of Grand Forks, ND, Blake Pabst of the Twin Cities, MN and Aaron (Fiancé Korena Bomkamp) Pabst of Menomonie, two grandchildren, Zoë and Luke Pabst of Grand Forks, ND one sister Judy Johnson of Onalaska, one niece Kristen Johnson of Onalaska and one nephew, Brent Johnson, of Anchorage, AK. She preceded in death by her parents, Walter (2000) and Agnes (1999), her husband Edward (1998), one brother, Richard Bloom (1971), one brother-in-law, Roger Johnson (2006).
