Yvonne "Bonnie" Fleishauer

Yvonne “Bonnie” M. Fleishauer, age 67, of Durand, formerly of Eau Galle, died Monday, December 21, 2009 at the home of her daughter Renee (Rob) in Eyota, MN surrounded by family.

Bonnie, was born on July 7, 1942 in Plum City. She was the daughter of Raymond and Glorus (Axelson) Lauer. She was raised in rural Arkansaw and attended and graduated from Arkansaw High School. After high school, she worked in the Twin Cities. Bonnie married Roger Fleishauer on May 9, 1964 in St. Joseph’s Church in Arkansaw. Bonnie stayed at home to raise her family for 14 years. In 1978, Bonnie went to work at the school as a cook where she worked until retiring in 2009. She also helped her brother Duane Lauer at his tool and dye shop for many years. Her husband Roger passed away in 1996.

Bonnie enjoyed working the John Harmon Chicken Dinners for 25 years. She walked everyday, read books, watched TV and collected movies. Bonnie loved her cat “Walker.” She took family vacations with her grandchildren all over the United States from coast to coast. Her grandchildren were her greatest love.

Bonnie is survived by her children, Patrick (Lisa) Fleishauer of Elysburg, PA, Renee (Rob) Smith of Eyota, MN, Karin Carothers of Durand and Amy (Jeff) Gruber of Mantorville, MN, 9 grandchildren, Tyler, Abby, Megan (Tom), Lindsey, Tyson, Austin, Brooke, Jacob and Kasie, one brother Bernard (Janice) Lauer of Menomonie and one sister Elaine Smuder of Cambridge, MN, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Roger and one brother, Duane Lauer.
