Paula M.”Polly” Kleinert, age 98 of Plum City,
Born: August 27, 1909
Died: January 2, 2008 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City.
Polly was the daughter of George and Mathilde (Spiss) Gfall. She was born and raised in Plum City and attended grade school in Plum City and high school in Durand. After high school, she worked at the family grocery and general merchandise store. Polly married Lester Martin Sr. and they had three children, Marilyn Hechler of Baytown, TX, two sons, Lester Jr. (Deceased) and Jerry T. Martin of Plainview, MN. Polly and Lester farmed in the Plum Creek Valley area of Plum City. Lester Sr. died in 1951. After the death of her husband, Polly worked as a clerk in Milwaukee for the insurance rating bureau. While in Milwaukee, she met and married Bill Kleinert. They moved back to Plum City in 1963. Her husband Bill died in 1988.
Polly is survived by one daughter Marilyn Hechler of Baytown, TX, one son Jerry T. (Agnes) Martin of Plainview, MN, daughter-in-law, Patricia Martin of Plum City, 13 grandchildren, 20 great grandchildren, one sister-in-law, Grace Gfall of Plum City. She is preceded in death by her first husband, Lester Martin Sr., second husband, Bill Kleinert, one son, Lester Martin Jr. and two brothers, George and Thomas Gfall.
