Alfred T Wittig
Alfred T. Wittig age 84 of Eau Claire, formerly of Durand, died Tuesday, April 6, 2010 at Sacred Heart Hospital in Eau Claire.
Al was born on December 28, 1925; he was the son of Ignatz and Julia (Kainz) Wittig. He was born and raised in the Town of Lima and attended Lima School. After school, he farmed on the home farm, until the farm was sold in 1980. He then moved to Eau Claire and began working at Gutins Dry Cleaners until his death.
Al had a knack for inventions and was a Mr. Fix-it Man. He was a caretaker of his parents in their aging years. Al enjoyed his second career at the dry cleaners and cherished the friends he made there. He also enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Al is survived by five sisters, Sr. Mary Avila F.S.P.A. of La Crosse, Marie Hayden of Durand, Helen Stilson of Condon, OR, Edna Fischer of Bayport, MN and Gertie (Kenneth) Holmstadt of Plum City, two brothers, James and Louis (Mary Ann), both of Durand, 59 nieces and nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, two sisters, Anna Wilson and Theresa Wittig, three brothers, Joseph, Anthony and Edward and one nephew, Roger Wittig.
