Marcella "Sally" M Doverspike

Marcella “Sally” M. Doverspike, age 90 of Durand, died Wednesday, June 23, 2010 with family by her side at the Luther Hospital in Eau Claire.

Sally was born on March 1, 1920 in the Lima Township, rural Pepin County. She was daughter of August and Catherine (Bauer) Bauer and she attended Lima Schools. Sally married Lloyd Johnson in 1939 and he passed away in 1954. She then married Kenneth Doverspike in 1957 and he passed away in 1995. Sally farmed all of her life. She retired from farming in 1992. Sally then resided in Mondovi until 2007 before moving in to the Oakview Care Center in Durand.

Sally was a member of St. Mary’s Catholic Church, the Altar and Rosary Society, the Pepin County Snowmobile Club, she loved the Green Bay Packers, playing cards, playing Yahtzee, going to the Casino and traveling across the country. Most of all, she loved spending time with family and friends.

Sally is survived by her children, Eugene “Gene” (Karen) Johnson of Eau Claire, Janice (Ed) Eckwright of Chippewa Falls, Deborah (Gerry) Goss of Menomonie, twins, Mike (Holly) Doverspike of Evansville and Mitchell (JoAnne) Doverspike of Stoughton, step-children, Gregg (Rita) Doverspike, Georgene (Bob) Sobottka, both of Eau Galle, Todd Doverspike of Durand, 16 grandchildren, Dawn, Eddie, Clint, Renee, Lynn, Chris, Anne, Jeremy, Kimberly, Shannon, Mandy, Becky, Josh, Dan, Thomas and Tanya, five step-grandchildren, Greg, Kristine, Tammy, Julie and Todd Jr., 17 great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren, two sisters, Pauline “Polly” Poeschel and Beatrice “Betty” Parr, Sisters-in-law, Darlene Bauer and Judy Doverspike, five brothers, Kenneth (Waltena) Bauer, Darrell (Cleo) Bauer, Cletus (Darlene) Bauer, Glenn (Lora) and Gary (Erika), brother-in-law, James Doverspike, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, husbands, Lloyd Johnson and Kenneth Doverspike, sister, Florence Brunner, two brothers, Ralph and Robert Bauer, brothers-in-law, Richard Poeschel, Ronald Parr, Joseph Brunner.

Sally was a loving caring mom and grandmother who had a smile on her face right to the end.
