Bernard A. Luebker, age 89 of Plum City, died peacefully on Monday, July 5, 2010 at the Plum City Care Center in Plum City with his family by his side.

Bernard was born on June 17, 1921 in Plum City. He was the son of Frank and Bertha (Grab) Luebker. He grew up in Plum City where he farmed all his life. He also hauled milk and worked for the Ellsworth Creamery for over 30 years, retiring from the creamery in 1983, but continued his love of farming. Bernard married Eleanor Traun in 1946 and they had six children together. She passed away in 1982. He later married Ardyce Hetrick who passed away in 1992. Bernard married Eunice Spence on July 24, 1993 in Spring Valley.

Bernard was a baseball fan, both watching and playing. He also enjoyed hunting, fishing and trapping. He liked to dig ginseng, write poetry, play cards and write and sing songs. His latest hobby was trapping moles, he was known in town for being the “Mole Man.” Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with family and friends. Bernard loved his Lord and was ready to meet him.

Bernard is survived by his wife, Eunice, five children, Jim (Glory) of Maiden Rock, Jan (Hal) Deye of Austin, MN, Jeanne Luebker of Woodbury, MN, Jack (Ruth) of Plum City and Gordy (Cathi) of Maiden Rock, five step children, Terry (Shelly) Spence of Plymouth, MN, Eileen Spence of River Falls, Richard (Kathy) Spence of Spring Valley, Randy (Bobbi) of River Falls and Amy (Mitch) Case of Spring Valley, 27 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren, one sister, Beatrice Biederman of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, wives, Eleanor and Ardyce, one son, Gary, three brothers, Clarence, Walter and Eugene and one sister, Polly White.

The family would like to extend a special thanks to the staff of the Plum City Care Center for the loving care they showed our husband, father and grandfather.
