Kenneth H. Nelson age 94 of Menomonie,
Died: Thursday July 15, 2010 at the Red Cedar Medical Center in Menomonie.
Ken was born December 30, 1915 in the Township Gilman near Spring Valley. He was the son of Alfred and Ida (Hanson) Nelson and grew up in that area. Ken attended country grade school and Spring Valley High School. He spent a year working in the CCC Camp. Ken also did farm labor and bridge construction. Ken then worked for Glen Martin Aircraft in Baltimore. He served two year in the U.S. Army during WW II. After the service Ken worked for St. Paul Hoist for a year and then returned to the home farm where he started dairy farming until he sold the farm in 1972. Ken married Rosella M. Trask November 29, 1972. After marriage they lived in Spring Valley until 1978 when they moved to Menomonie where Ken was the head of maintenance at the Elmwood Senior Citizens Housing in Menomonie for all most 30 years.
Ken is survived by a step son, Maurice Trask of Menomonie and a special friend Sue McCann also of Menomonie; several cousins and other relatives and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife Rosella in 1997 and a brother Sheldon Nelson
