Anna E Weissinger
Anna E. Weissinger age 93 of Durand, died Friday, July 30, 2010 at the Oakview Care Center in Durand.
Anna was born on July 3, 1917 in the Town of Lima, rural Durand. She was the daughter of John J. and Bertha (Poeschel) Bauer. Anna attended rural schools in the Lima area. She worked on the family farm for several years. Anna married Herman Weissinger on May 2, 1939 at Lima. After marriage they lived and worked on their farm in the Township of Albany for many years. They sold the farm in 1966 and moved to Durand. Anna has been a resident of the Oakview Care Center in Durand since 2006.
Anna enjoyed traveling, especially spending her winters in Florida, polka music, playing cards and shopping. Most of all, she loved to spend time with family and friends.
Anna is survived by her children, Karol (Don) Richardson of Arkansaw, LaVerne Weissinger of Hastings, MN and Norma (Don) Pittman of Durand, seven grandchildren, 13 great grandchildren, two brothers, Hubert Bauer, and William J. (Helen) Bauer, both of Durand, two sisters, Lucyann Sabelko of Durand and Veronica Nielen of Wautoma, many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Herman, one great granddaughter, Krista Rolfzen, one daughter-in-law, Mary Weissinger and two sisters, Mary Schaefer and Barbara Dekan.
