Newell E Weiser
Newell E. Weiser age 95 of Elmwood,
Died: Wednesday August 25, 2010 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood.
Newell was born May 8, 1915 in Elmwood, the son of Edward and Cecilia (Cunningham) Weiser. Newell graduated from Elmwood High School and attended one year of college at River Falls. He served in the U.S. Army during WW II in the European Theater. Newell was a rural mail carrier for the U.S. Postal Service in Elmwood, retiring after 30 years of service. He married Marcella Apple on July 21, 1956. They made their home in Elmwood where they were members of Sacred Heart Catholic Church, and Newell was a member of the Crain-Ottman American Legion, Post 207 of Elmwood. They enjoyed their retirement years in Mesa, AZ golfing and square dancing and spending time with family and friends.
Newell is survived by a niece, Ann (Jim) Bock of Balsam Lake; a nephew Michael Weiser of Milwaukee; great nephew Jamie (Shana) Bock and great-great nephews Brett and Bryce Bock.
He his preceded in death by his parents, his wife Marcella in 2005; a brother Gordon and a nephew Bill Weiser.
