Marty R Miller

Marty R. Miller, age 37, of Sherwood Wisconsin, formerly of Menomonie, passed away peacefully with his wife, mother and aunt by his side, at Cherry Meadows in Appleton on Tuesday, October 13, 2010 after a courageous battle with leukemia.

Marty was born April 11, 1973 in Menomonie. He was the son of John and Georgie (Chamberlain) Miller. Marty grew up in Menomonie, graduated from Menomonie High School in 1991. He attended the University of Wisconsin-Stout. Marty married Andrea Podowicz September 5, 1998 in L’Erable, IL. They lived in Menomonie for a short time before moving to Appleton in 1999, where Marty was currently working for Crescent Electric Supply Company.

Marty was an avid hunter and fisherman, something he learned from his father and a passion he hoped to share with his children. Marty’s love for the outdoors was clearly evident with his annual hunting and fishing trips to various places, with family and friends. Marty’s special time was sitting in the woods, watching the sunrise, absorbing everything that was taking place around him. Marty felt closest to God in the cathedral of the pines.

Marty is survived by his loving wife Andrea, two sons Cade and Austin, both at home; his parents, John and Georgie Miller of Menomonie; a sister Katie Miller of Menomonie; two brothers, Michael (Dani) Miller of Solon Springs; Patrick (Amanda) Miller of Menomonie; his paternal grandmother, Beatrice Miller of Menomonie; father & mother-in-law, Jack and Betty Podowicz; three sisters-in-law, Karie (Herb) Frake; Jackie (Mike) Pittman; Melissa (Mike) Feeney; two brothers-in-law, Tim (Kathy) Podowicz; Mike (Julie) Podowicz and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his maternal grandparents, George and Kathleen Chamberlain and his paternal grandfather, Norman Miller.

Expressions of sympathy may be given to the Marty Miller Memorial Fund or the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of Marty.

The family would like to thank the medical staff at Appleton Medical Center, Fox Valley Hematology & Oncology, Froedtert Memorial Hospital and Cancer Clinic, Theda Care at Home and Cherry Meadows for the care and support provided to Marty during this challenging time.
