Carol M Wolf

Carol M. Wolf, 76, of Durand, died Tuesday, July 5, 2011 at the Chippewa Valley Hospital in Durand with her family by her side.
Carol was born on September 1, 1934 in Durand. She was the daughter of William V. and Hilda (Bauer) Bauer. Carol grew up on the family farm in the Town of Lima, rural Durand. She attended and graduated from Sacred Heart School in Lima. After school, Carol worked as a secretary at the Durand Creamery, Pillsbury and Honeywell companies, both in Minneapolis, and for a shipping company in Florida for a short while. Carol married William C. Wolf on October 13, 1962 at Holy Rosary Church in Lima. After marriage, Carol joined the Wolf family business, Wolf’s Ladies Fashions and Footwear, where she worked until her death. Carol found great joy in carrying on the family business which just celebrated 106 years of operation. She enjoyed socializing with the many customers and friends throughout the years and had great pride in the Durand community.
Carol had a calm and patient presence, a joyful spirit and a great sense of adventure. She took many trips with her husband Bill all over the world including, Hawaii, Colorado, Alaska, Germany, Montana and Canada. She was an avid bowler and bowled for over 50 years. Carol enjoyed spending time at the cabin on Lake Eau Claire engaging in conversation with family and friends. Most of all Carol loved spending time with her grandchildren.
Carol is survived by her husband of 49 years, William C. “Bill,” her two daughters, Susan Wolf of Durand and Mary (Craig) Johanns of Eagan, MN, two sons, William M. “Bill” (Kandy) of Gig Harbor, WA and Karl (Jess) of Minneapolis, MN, seven grandchildren, Lindsey, Luke, William I., Samuel, Elijah, Olivia and August, two brothers, Raymond “Sicky” (Karen) Bauer and Giles “Putter” (Bea), both of Durand, four sisters, Loretta (Ray) Poeschel of Durand, Bonnie Bauer of CA, Betty (Rex) Schuffler of CA, and Ardith “Ardy” (Mike) Parish of Eagan, MN, two sisters-in-law, Rose Marie (Ray) Blanchard of Durand and Delores “Dolly” Bauer of Durand, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Eugene “Gene” Bauer.
