Chester A Fritz
Chester “Chet” A. Fritz age 86 formerly of Elmwood,
Died: Monday July 18, 2011 at Harbor House Memory Care in Eau Claire.
Chet was born March 23, 1925 in the Township of Weston, Dunn County, rural Elmwood. He was the son of Jacob and Jenny (Truesdell) Fritz and grew up in that area. Chet served in the U.S. Navy during WW II. After the service he returned to the Elmwood area. Chet married Irene B. Ziehme May 27, 1947 in Elmwood. Chet worked at various jobs in the Elmwood area, retiring from the Pierce County Highway Department.
Chet is survived by a son James (Kathleen) of Eau Claire; two daughters, Betty Jo (Wayne) Abley of Fall Creek; Jeri (Robert) Morris of Altoona; eight grandchildren, Lisa (Jim) Wilkinsin; Jeff (Paula Sairs) Abley; Julie (Fiancé Chad York) Fritz; Brian (Daniella) Abley; Sara (Fiancé Jason Dekan) Fritz; Bethany, Jessi and Samuel Westra; 12 great grandchildren; one brother Dennis (June) Fritz of Spring Valley; and sister-n-law, Mabel Fritz of Elmwood and several nieces nephews and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Irene in 2004; three brothers, Orin, Lyle and Warren; four sisters, Alice Ottman; Ada Johnston; Margaret Sumter and Eunice Mitchell.
The family would like to thank the staff at Harbor House Memory Care in Eau Claire for the wonderful care they gave Chet these past five years.
