Lucille C. “Lucy” Decker, age 90 of Menomonie, died Tuesday, August 9, 2011 at her home in Menomonie with her family by her side.

Lucy was born on October 27, 1920 in the Town of Weston, rural Menomonie. She was the daughter of Milton and Iva (Lemon) Moore. Lucy married Earl Decker on September 16, 1936 in Stillwater, MN. After marriage, they lived in Pontiac, MI for ten years and then returned to the Menomonie area where they raised their family. Lucy worked as a waitress at the Hotel Marion for ten years. They later purchased the Anchor Café which they owned and operated for several years. Lucy was an active member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in Menomonie and served as president of the P.C.C.W. She was instrumental in the starting of the St. Joseph’s Fall Festival. Lucy was also active member of the Menomonie Women of the Moose and served as Office of Senior Regent. She also volunteered a lot of her free time to various organizations in the Menomonie area.

Lucy is survived by five daughters, Earlene (Floyd) Scott and Susan (Ken) Hatcher, both of Harlingen, TX; Nancy Burton of Knapp; Barbara Gipson of Rosemount, MN and Diane (Len) Nikolai of Manitowoc; one son, Richard (Sandra) Decker of North Port, FL; 25 grandchildren, 42 great grandchildren, 10 great great grandchildren; two brothers, Milton Jr. (Delores) Moore, of Grand Forks, ND and David (Som) Moore of Wilson; one sister, Avis Glampe of Elmwood; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends; special friend, Monsignor Charles Blecha.

She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband Earl, one son William, one granddaughter, Shelly Nikolai, two sons-in-law, Bob Gipson and Donn Burton, three sisters, Loretta Brown, Luberta Ballard Bairstow and Ruby Bowell and one brother, Eugene Moore.

The family would like to thank Dr. Brown and all the staff at the Mayo Clinic Health System-Menomonie, the Mayo Clinic Health System-Home Health &Hospice and the Dunn County Health Care Center for all the love and care Lucy has received.
