Grace L Gfall
Grace L. (Nelson) Gfall, age 92 of River Falls, formerly of Plum City, died peacefully on October 31, 2011 at the Comforts of Home in River Falls.
Grace was born on August 5, 1919, in Maiden Rock Township. She was the daughter of Oscar and Anna (Hyngstrom) Nelson. Grace married George Gfall and their family in Plum City.
Grace was a wonderful mother and dedicated member of St. John the Baptist church. She was educated at River Falls University and taught high school in Iron Belt and Black River Falls. Later, after her children were older, she taught at St. John the Baptist school. She helped start the Plum City Library and was librarian there for many years. She cherished her friends and family, and also valued reading books, her favorite hobby.
Grace is survived by her children: Jean (Dennis) Johnson of River Falls, George (Jean) Gfall of New Richmond, Mary (Jerry) Fields of Panorama City, CA, Leta Johnson of Onalaska, Don (Julie) Gfall of St. Cloud, MN, Lana (Mike) Gilson of Nebraska City, NE, 10 grandchildren: Damion, Brendan, Samuel (Julia), Laura (Alex), Brian, George (Jen), Karl, Gina, Jeff, Nikki, and one great grandchild, Odessa. She is preceded in death by her husband George; brother, Lester and son-in-law, Michael Johnson.
