Jerome "Patrick" Lieffring
Jerome "Patrick" Lieffring age 68 of Elk Mound, died Wednesday, November 16, 2011 at Mayo Clinic Health Systems-Chippewa Valley in Bloomer after a long battle of pancreatic cancer.
Pat was born on February 10, 1943 in Durand. He was the son of Giles and Dolly (Hooker) Lieffring. He grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School. After high school, Pat attended UW-Stout in Menomonie. Pat spent his career in the electrical field as an electrician and was an active member of the IBEW Local #14. Pat married Jeanne LaForte in 1969, they had two children together and they later divorced. In 1983, Pat moved to current home in Elk Mound. Pat was forced to retire after a car accident in 2009.
Pat enjoyed fixing things in need of repair, fishing and spending time outdoors. He was always willing to help out anyone in need. Most of all Pat loved spending time with family and friends.
Pat is survived by his sons, Patrick R. (Krista) of Chippewa Falls and Joel of Grantsburg, two brothers, Tom of Inver Grove Heights, MN and Michael of California, three sisters, Regina (Roy) Goodnough of Sedona, AZ, Mary Polzer of Durand and Margaret (Tony) Binkowski of Elmwood, nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A Memorial Visitation will be held 4-8PM Tuesday, November 29, 2011 at the Rhiel Funeral Home in Durand. Burial of Cremains will be 10:00 AM Wednesday, November 30, 2011 at St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Durand.
