Adeline R Maguire
Adeline R. Maguire, age 99 of Durand, died Wednesday, December 21, 2011 at the Oakview Care Center in Durand.
Adeline was born on May 26, 1912 at home in Durand. She was the daughter of Andrew and Agnes (Boehm) Nussberger. Adeline grew up in Durand and graduated from Durand High School. After high school, Adeline attended St. Theresa's College in Winona and UW-Eau Claire and graduated with a degree in teaching. Adeline married Mark W. Maguire on February 8, 1937 at St. Mary's in Durand. After marriage, they lived in various places including Halder, WI and Omaha, NE, before moving back to Durand in 1945. Adeline taught at Plum City Grade School for 17 years and two years at Holy Rosary School in Lima. For the last 10 years, Adeline has been a resident of the Oakview Care Center in Durand.
Adeline loved to read, visit with people and was very in tune to National politics. Most of all, she enjoyed spending time with family and friends.
Adeline is survived by her children, Corine (Ronald) Bien of Durand and Brendan (Carol) Maguire Ph.D. of Macomb, IL, nine grandchildren, Deborah (Brian) Bechel of Durand, Diane (Ron) Hunter, Laura (Kirk) Harmon, Stephen (Kristine) Bien, Shawn (Joseph) Schemenauer and Rebecca (Travis) Jilek, all of Eau Claire, Lisa (Paul) Sinz of Stillwater, MN, Lee (Jodi) Melcher of Macomb, IL and Michael (Jessica) Melcher of St. Charles, IL, 20 great grandchildren, six great great grandchildren, two brothers, Arthur (Rose Anne) Nussberger of Riverside, CA and Harry Nussberger of Sheboygan, nieces, nephews other relatives and friends. She is preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Mark (1993), two children in infancy, four brothers, Andrew Jr., Hubert, Donald and Ronald Nussberger, one sister, Ruth Drier and a sister-in-law, Alice Nussberger.
