Stanley "Hans" S Feiler

Stanley “Hans” S. Feiler age 85 of Elmwood died Wednesday January 11, 2012 at the Heritage of Elmwood Nursing Home in Elmwood surrounded by his family.

Stanley was born May 27, 1926 in the Rock Elm Township of Pierce County, rural Elmwood. He was the son of August and Rochelle (Murphy) Feiler. At the age of five, he and his family moved to Elmwood. There he attended and graduated from the Elmwood High School in 1945. Stanley started at the age of 11 working at the Elmwood Creamery where he worked for several years. On July 22, 1947 Stanley married the love of his life Audrey Campbell at the Elmwood United Methodist Church and to this blessed union for children were born. In 1959 Stanley purchased what became Feiler’s Standard Service. In 1961 he tore down that building and built the new Amoco Station. Stanley served several terms on the Elmwood Village Board, the Poplar Hill Cemetery Board and also was a substitute mail carrier. Stanley loved traveling, bowling, golfing, spending time at their cabin for many years, attending activities with his family. He and Audrey spent seven years traveling to Texas and Florida for the winter. In 2007 Stanley and Audrey were honored as Grand Marshalls of the Elmwood UFO Days Parade.

Stanley is survived by his loving wife Audrey of 64 years, his children, Sandra (Neil) Thompson of Spring Valley; Scott ( Debra) Feiler, Susan (Daniel) Pelzel, Sheryl (Scott) Kendall all of Elmwood; 10 grandchildren, 14 great grandchildren, two brothers, Robert (Virginia) of Boise, ID; Larry (Sandra) of Menomonie; two sisters-in-law, Kathleen (Clark) Feiler of Henderson, NV; Carol McNamara of Chicago, IL; a brother-in-law, Robert (Elaine) Stein of Red Wing, MN; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, a sister Evelyn Lecheler and two brothers Clark and Calvin Feiler.
