Leonard  Schlosser

Leonard Schlosser age 79 of Spring Valley, died Monday January 16, 2012 at his home in the Township of Spring Lake, rural Spring Valley.

Leonard was born May 20, 1932 in the Township of Eau Galle, Dunn County. He was the son of Frank and Henrietta (Webb) Schlosser and grew up on the home farm. He attended school in Eau Galle. Leonard married Luetta Marie Schmitt on September 9, 1952 at St. John’s Catholic Church in Plum City. For a short time, Leonard worked in the Twin Cities before moving to the Township of Spring Lake where he farmed in partnership with his father-in-law. Besides farming Leonard worked as meat cutter at Geiger’s grocery store. He drove school bus for Spring Valley School District for 21 years and was the custodian for the Gilman Elementary School for 18 years.

Leonard loved woodworking, traveling and going to the casino. He spent many years dressing up as Santa Claus, entertaining around the area during the Christmas season.

Leonard is survived by his wife Lu of 59 years; five children; Patricia O’ Bryan (Jim Hague), Steve (Dawn) Schlosser, Russell (Laurie) Schlosser, and foster daughter Marilyn Prosser all of Spring Valley; Evelyn Morehouse (Rick Palla) of Shakopee, MN; Donna Blodgett (Paul) of Hudson; 10 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren; two brothers, Jim of Arkansaw and Bernard (Beatrice) of Mission, TX; and other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; five sisters and three brothers and a son-in-law, Wes O’Bryan.
